the four communicative skills assessed by CELPIP. Read on to find out what you

CELPIP Listening:
Format and Coverage
The CELPIP listening exam
is divided into six parts. It’s imperative that you know what to expect out of
each one to prepare for them adequately. Below is a run-through of each
component. Consider them during your CELPIP preparation
period to enhance your review experience.
Part
1: Listening to Problem Solving
Duration: 5 minutes
Number of Questions: 8
Material Description: A face-to-face conversation between
strangers discussing a particular problem
Task Description: You must answer eight questions that
involve identifying the key points and supporting details of the audio
recording.
Part 2: Listening to a Daily Conversation
Duration: 2 minutes
Number of Questions: 5
Material Description: A conversation common in daily life
Task Description: You must answer five questions about
the audio recording.
Part 3: Listening for Information
Duration: 2.5 minutes
Number of Questions: 6
Material Description: A discussion about a specific subject
Task Description: You must answer six questions that
involve analyzing the recording and determining which speaker provided accurate
information.
Part 4: Listening to a News Item
Duration: 1.5 minutes
Number of Questions: 5
Material Description: A news item
Task Description: You must answer five questions about
the contents of the news item.
Part 5: Listening to Discussion
Duration: 2 minutes
Number of Questions: 8
Material Description: A two-minute video that revolves around
a specific subject matter
Task Description: You must answer eight questions about
the contents of the video.
Part 6: Listening to Viewpoints
Duration: 3 minutes
Number of Questions: 6
Material Description: An audio recording of an in-depth
report
Task Description: You must answer six questions that
involve identifying the viewpoints of the speakers in the audio recording.
