Do you want to secure
grade goals on your first attempt? Prepare with a CELPIP training program!
Don’t worry. You don’t have to empty your wallet to avail a first-rate review
course. There are many providers of excellent and affordable
CELPIP review programs in the Philippines. Enroll in the one closest to
your area or, if you really want to guarantee test success, enroll in JRooz
Review’s Manila, Makati, or Baguio branch.
Want to raise
your chances of success even higher? Know not only what you should but also
what you shouldn’t do while preparing for and taking the test. Here are some of
the most common writing mistakes CELPIP takers make.
1. Working on your writing speed
CELPIP
is a fully computerized exam. So, it doesn’t make sense to increase your
writing speed for the writing exam. Work on your typing speed instead. Make
sure you’re comfortable with using a computer keyboard and a mouse before you
take the test. Complement your affordable CELPIP review
course with typing exercises to enhance your skills.
2. Not addressing all the requirements of the task
No
matter how compelling or well-written your response is, it won’t get you a high
score if it doesn’t meet all the requirements of the task. So, follow the instructions. Make sure you
tackle and develop all the aspects of the task extensively. Support your key
points with the relevant supporting details.
3. Sticking to simple vocabulary and sentence structures
Make
sure your essay reflects your communicative competence. Employ diverse but
appropriate vocabulary. Add variety to your sentence structures and lengths.
Read as many kinds of English materials as you can during your CELPIP review period to build up your vocabulary for
the exam.
4. Disregarding flow and structure
The
logical transition of ideas is crucial in the CELPIP writing exam. Don’t
disregard it. Outline your ideas to make sure everything fits well together and
establish the structure of your essay. Use transition words and expressions to avoid
abrupt topic changes.
5. Going significantly over or under the word count
requirement
Pay
attention to the word count. While you do have leeway to go slightly over or
under it, it would still be best not to push it. Otherwise, your final grade
will suffer. If you’re preparing with an affordable CELPIP review and have answered practice writing exams, you’ve probably
noticed a counter at the bottom of each task. That is a word counter. Keep an
eye on it as you type to track your word count.
Don’t sabotage your
chances of achieving a high score in the CELPIP exam. Make sure you’re
not committing any of these mistakes. Visit our blog page
